Here's what is going on...

Alright, I've had a few inquiries as to what happened with my computer. Basically, some rootkits infected Windows system files. So I ran ComboFix, and it removed those system files. It was a chain reaction of stuff afterward that caused me to do a recovery (Recovery, not restore). I first tried running a repair off of an old XP disc I had. However, the disc was damaged, thus totally annihilating my OS. It only was able to copy/delete about half of the files it needed to before failing. Therefore, I got a BSOD every time I booted my computer, and it would automatically restart, putting it in a boot loop. At this point, I used Norton Ghost to recover any files I wanted. Today, I was handed some new, legitimate, professional versions of Windows XP SP2. So now, I have a clean install, clean computer, and I am back on track hardware-wise.

On the topic of hardware, though... My external is toast. Everything on it is just basically gone. However... I have sent a ticket to YoYo Games (The developers of the program I use to make Coven) in an attempt to get them to decompile the most recent .EXE build of the game. I am told that it is very possible, but that I need to go through a lot of security measures. I am prepared to do so, and the incident with the external would only set us back about 1 week or so in development time. This is not a big deal at all. Just please, everyone cross your fingers and make sure they can come through for me. I really hope so...

Moving on, the external contained several hundred gigs of data that I had compiled over nearly a decade. Thankfully, 90% of it is replaceable. The few things that are not replaceable are my high-school CAD (Computer-aided drafting) drawings, my immense library of game development sounds, music, sprites, programs, etc., and my old Wolfenstein 3D mods. Luckily I found some old CDs I had burned very old versions to, so I recovered about half of what I lost that was irreplaceable.

The bottom line is that I should hopefully be able to start work on the project again this week.

Thanks everyone, and pick up the activity! I'm bored out of my skull!
